THOUSANDS of people crowded into the grounds of one of the region's top stately homes for a spectacular musical feast.
The Castle Howard Proms event - attended by 12,000 people - brought an array of classical music performers to the grounds of the estate, near Malton, North Yorkshire.
The show ended with a dazzling fireworks display, but the night was tinged with sadness following the discovery of the bodies of missing girls, Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman.
A minute's silence was held before the main performance began.
