A FUN day proved a novel approach to a campaign to raise literacy standards among a housing estate's youngsters.
Representatives of Middlesbrough's Library Service busied themselves with stories and craft activities at a fun day at Easterside, one of eight areas in Middlesbrough included in the Primary Link Project. Middlesbrough South and East Cleveland MP Ashok Kumar joined in the fun along with ward councillor Dave Budd, community policeman Nick Lynch and the children of Easterside Primary School.
