TWO brothers who attacked a bus driver and then turned on an inspector who intervened were behind bars last night.
Harrogate magistrates heard how Matthew Chandler, 21, and Steven Chandler, 19, told the Harrogate and District Travel employees: ''We're from the Broad Acres, don't mess with us'' - a reference to an estate off the town's Knaresborough Road where police often have to deal with disturbances.
The pair, of Kennion Road, Harrogate, pleaded guilty to affray.
Matthew Chandler was jailed for five months and his brother was sent to a young offenders' institute, also for five months.
Defence solicitor Alan Bridger said the brothers could remember little of the incident.
