A PENSIONER was facing jail last night for sex attacks on two schoolgirls that took place 30 years apart.
David Colin Weall, 69, pleaded guilty to indecently assaulting a girl of 14 in 1971, and an 11-year-old girl in March this year.
Weall, of Bolckow Road, Grangetown, near Middlesbrough, was granted bail at Teesside Crown Court while a medical report was prepared, but Judge John Walford warned him: "There will have to be a custodial sentence. The only uncertain element is how long that sentence should be."
Weall admitted two charges of indecently assaulting the elder girl between May 1971 and August 1972, and between August 1976 and December 1988, and one charge of indecently assaulting the other girl on March 30.
Simon Reevell, defending, said that Weall, now living in a bail hostel, had a patch on a lung and glands problems.
The judge told Weall: "Obviously relevant to the length of sentence is the state of health of an offender, and in light of what has been said I am going to adjourn sentence to enable a medical report to be prepared.
"It should not mislead you into thinking that you are not going to prison."
Weall will also have to register as a sex offender.
