MORE than 60,000 people have flocked to a new £5.7m visitor centre in only five months - signalling a major success for a law firm.
Ward Hadaway worked with English Heritage to secure land interests at Whitby Abbey headland, in North Yorkshire, where the centre was built within the walls of a medieval banquet hall.
A specialist in planning and property work, Ward Hadaway also negotiated finance and development arrangements for the project.
Lesley Fairclough, partner in property department at the firm, is also backing Newcastle and Gateshead in their bid to become the 2008 European Capital of Culture.
