PLANS for a telecommunications mast in Hartlepool are to be discussed at a meeting.
Councillor John Lauderdale, cabinet member for town management, has called the meeting to consider a proposal for the Pink Domino pub, in Catcote Road.
The public are being invited to submit comments and questions in advance if they have any particular concerns.
The meeting follows a request from the developers, Hutchinson 3G, to address concerns relating to the mast which they say poses no health and safety risk.
Planning permission for the mast was granted in June, but work cannot go ahead on site unless Hartlepool Borough Council agrees to lift a covenant which requires the owners of the site to do nothing which, in the opinion of the council, would or could become a nuisance or annoyance to neighbouring tenants or adjacent landowners.
Coun Lauderdale has invited Hutchinson 3G to make a presentation on Friday from 10am to 11.30am in the council chamber. He will chair the meeting which will be open to all councillors and the public.
He said the issue of telecom masts was a controversial one and he had called the meeting so that people could air their concerns. He said it would help him to make a decision on whether to lift the ban.
