DESPITE protests from neighbouring residents, councillors have agreed to grant an entertainment licence for a Stockton pub.
Members of Stockton Borough Council's licensing committee met yesterday to discuss plans for The Five Alls Pub, Bothal Drive, Stockton. Landlady Ada Wilkinson wanted permission for an entertainment licence from 11am to 11pm, Monday to Saturday, and from noon to 1.30pm on Sundays.
Residents had objected because they were worried that the level of noise generated by the pub would increase.
After hearing the concerns of residents at the meeting, councillors granted permission for the licence on two days a week.
Mrs Wilkinson has to hold regular meetings with the residents and ensure noise limiting devices are fitted.
