STAR-in-the-making Pete Shoulder may have an album deal and a gig at Durham City's Gala Theatre, but he's still happy to help out his local social club.
The Waldridge Fell Club, near Chester-le-Street, celebrates its centenary with a big party on Saturday night and the 18-year-old guitar virtuoso will perform a solo acoustic set.
Pete, from nearby Waldridge Village, last year signed a six-album deal with Sony and has already made two visits to the USA to work on ideas with hit songwriters.
While at home he is a familiar figure at the club, which opened in May as a private concern nine months after the former Waldridge Workingmen's Club closed its doors in the same building.
New licensee Fiona Mills, husband Stuart and the club staff will wear period costume at both Friday's karaoke and Saturday's concert night.
Admission on Saturday, inclusive of a buffet, is £2, starting at around 8pm.
Pete plays Durham City's Gala Theatre on Friday, September 6 from 7.30pm and tickets are £5 from the box office, (0191) 332 4041.
