STARS from the soap opera Emmerdale will be taking part in a celebrity cricket match at Darlington Cricket Club.
Lining up against a team from BBC Radio Cleveland are Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell), Rodney Blackstock (Patrick Mower) and new heart-throb, Syd the builder (Nathan Gladwell).
Taking the field for BBC Radio Cleveland will be presenters Alan Wright and Mark Drury, sports reporters Len Brewer and Trevor Hawkins, and Darlington Cricket Club's professional, Mark Stainsby.
The event on August 25 will raise money for Children in Need. Gates open at 10pm and the match starts at 1pm.
Radio presenter Stewart McFarlane will be broadcasting his mid-morning show live from the Feethams ground from 9am until noon. There will also be entertainment, including a barbecue, raffle, a signed Middlesbrough FC ball, bouncy castle and a visit from BBC Children In Need mascot, Pudsey Bear.
Tickets are £2.50 for adults and £1.50 for children, available from BBC Radio Cleveland in Newport Road, Middlesbrough, and Darlington Cricket Club.
