A TEAM of local authority housing chiefs took to the road this week in a bid to persuade tenants to have their say on how services are run.
Both councillors and members of Richmondshire District Council's tenants' panel boarded a bus to tour the area to highlight how people can get involved in the decision-making process. Options include joining the panel, or estate forums, or the Village Voices scheme.
Senior housing officer, Sara Smith, said: "It is important people realise they can play an active role in the management of the housing services offered by the council. We have met a lot of people and hopefully some of them will now want to get more involved."
Chairman of the tenants panel, Gina Kirby, added: "It is vital that we have this two-way dialogue with the council. We would like everyone to be involved, especially younger people."
The roadshow called at Leyburn, Middleham, Hawes, Eppelby, Aldbrough St John, Melsonby, Barton, Gilling West, Scorton, Catterick Village, Colburn, Hipswell and Richmond.
