RESIDENTS are preparing to let their hair down when they hold a fun day this weekend.
People at Grindon, Plains Farm, Thorney Close, Springwell and Farringdon, in Sunderland, are holding their Summer Residents Bash at Sunningdale School, Springwell, on Saturday from noon to 4pm.
Attractions include a fun fair, bouncy castle, face painting, penalty shoot-out, tombolas, Magic Andrew the Magician, and local band Technicolour.
The residents' Insight Committee has organised the event, and the Single Regeneration Budget sixth round has given £1,000 to stage it.
Committee member Dave Knox said: "We're all so pleased with the way the event has come together.
"This will be a day for the whole community. We've got lots of activities planned so there will be something there to suit everyone."
The Mayor of Sunderland, Peter Gibson, will open the event at noon.
