THE first graduates of a new course at a Darlington college have all gone on to their first choice of universities and jobs.
Students on the National Diploma in fashion and clothing course at Darlington College of Technology have had success in securing jobs and places for further study, following the recent completion of the two-year course.
The course, aimed at 16 to 18-year-olds, covers design and development, fashion illustration and garment manufacture.
The recent graduates have gone on to study courses at the University of Northumbria and De Montford University, in Leicester.
Lecturer Jane Brown said: "Students design several pieces throughout the course and display them in a fashion show at the end of the second year.
"This year's event at the Arts Centre was a sell-out and went down a storm with the audience.
"The course specialises in providing courses which lead people into their chosen careers. This course has effectively had 100 per cent success."
