THIEVES who broke into a house in Darlington escaped with items valued at almost £3,000.
The burglars removed the plastic window frame from the back door of the house in Lorraine Crescent on Wednesday to get inside.
A full set of Black Cat golf clubs, three Galloway woods and a Hippo blue and beige golf bag were among the items stolen in the raid, which happened between noon and 7pm.
Also taken was a Playstation and games, a radio cassette players, a Panasonic video recorder, a diamond ring with five stones inset, and an aquamarine three-stone ring.
The total value of the haul is estimated at £2,800.
