Spennymoor Weardale put up a very good show at home to Crook Olde Horse Shoe, the league leaders, and only went down in the last three frames.
The singles winners for the home side were Lou cooper with two points and one each for Martin Short, Shane Casen and Gary Williams. The Shoe replied with two points for Gerald Parkin and one each for Steve Hunter, Gavin Witton and Kevin Waterhouse. The visitors went into the lead when Dave Walker and Steve Hunter won the doubles and completed the job when Gavin Witton took both captain's points against Shane Casen.
Bishop Auckland RAFA Club eased up to third from bottom following their odd point home win over Bishop Auckland Snooker Club A. The RAFA had two points from Stuart Hambleton and David Gaskins, whilst the visiting Snooker Club went ahead with two points each from Craig Douthwaite, John Peacock and Michael Hopper. However the RAFA closed the gap when Steve Cowley and Lisa Gaskins won the doubles and went to victory thanks to the two points from Bob Chambers in the captain's games.
Crook Olde Horse Shoe lead the table by five points from Crook Coach and Horses, who are eight ahead of Bishop Auckland Snooker Club B. However the Coach have played an extra game. Spennymoor Ashtree are still in with a chance of honours for they are 26 points behind the Coach but have three matches in hand.

Super League
After 12 straight wins of the season Horden found it unlucky 13 when they lost 8-6 on their travels to Durham A. Durham had two wins from Lee Holdsworth, Chris Greenwell and Helen Littlewood (including one clearance from the break), one win each for Ian Staines and Paul Campbell. Horden had two wins from John Bourne and one win each from Steve Wylie, Darren Jones, James Evans and Tommy Forster.
Third-placed Shildon entertained fourth placed Aycliffe A and it was the home side who came out on top winning 8-6. Shildon had two wins from Paul Willey, Rance Richardson and Andrew Tennant, one win each from Martin Taylor and Ian Sanderson. Aycliffe A had two wins from Dave Bromley and Eddie Mackay, one win each from Chris Peacock and Johnny Mason. This win moved Shildon up into second place as Durham B had a free week, Aycliffe A also moved ahead of Durham B.
Crook B travelled to Bishop Auckland and came away with an 8-6 victory. Crook B had two wins from Gerald Parkin and Gavin Witton, one win each for Cliffy Owens, Darren Tinkler, Les Scott and John Warrinner. Bishop replied with two wins from Kevin Watson and one win each from Warren Stamp, Peter Mernor, Ron Wright and David Jacomb.
Ferryhill played host to Aycliffe B and won 9-5 with two wins from Simon Corbridge and Steve Webster, one win each from Martin Short, Steve Wray, Terry Wray, Chris Murray and Ronnie McAloon. Aycliffe B had two wins from Ross Killip and Gary Spooner with Richie Bellwood adding the other. This result moved Ferryhill into third place two points behind Shildon and one point ahead of Aycliffe A.
Crook A entertained Consett and won 9-5. Horden are clear leaders been 21 points ahead of Shildon however, the league is very interesting as only six points separate five teams for second place. Crook B could also come into the equation if they win their games in hand.
Crook League
Gavin Witton of Crook Olde Horse Shoe A again won the First Division Player of the Year trophy when he completed 28 victories during the season. In equal second place, just one win behind Gavin, were Michael Burke of Crook Travellers Rest B, John Warriner of Crook Belle Vue and David Stephenson of Crook Olde Horse Shoe A. John Carroll of Crook Travellers Rest A and Neil Campbell of Crook Travellers Rest B followed with 23 wins each.
David Haygarth of Crook Royal Sun B was the run-a-way winner of the Second Division Player of the Year trophy when he recorded 30 victories in the season. Dave Stewart of Crook White Swan was in second place with 26 wins. John Howarth of Crook Queen's Head A made 24 wins with Michael Harker of Crook Jelly's Bar B just a point behind. Chris Smith of Crook Jelly's Bar B, Lee Airey of Crook White Swan, Michael Jewitt of Crook Jelly's Bar A, Micky Toward of Willington Market and Richard Dobson and Stephen Fairgrieves both of Crook Jelly's Bar B finished with 22 wins each.
Tow Law League
Tow Law Dan's Castle A moved to the top of the table with a three point away win at Tow Law New Market B. The home side took two singles through David Spencer and John Beveridge, whilst the Castle had wins from Ian Johnson, Lee Stockdale, David Craggs and Anthony Hird. Robert Hopps and Ray Weir took a doubles for the home side but the Castle completed a good victory by taking the other two doubles points.
The Castle victory pushed them three points clear at the top after Tow Law North Point could only manage one point from their visit to Lanchester King's Head, where Colin Armstrong produced his usual scintillating form for the Point.
Tow Law Cattle Mart pulled off a good home win against the third placed Esh Football Club. Stephen Maughan, Marc Williams, Malcolm Boughey and Alan Ogilvie won singles for the Mart with John Robinson and Craig Neil replying. The Mart clinched victory when Malcolm Boughey and Alan Ogilvie took the first doubles but the visitors made the score respectable by taking the last two doubles.
