Glen Robinson Memorial Trophy: South Hetton won their third trophy when they defeated South Shields at 44 runs at Bunker Hill, Philadelphia, on Sunday.
Batting first South Hetton overcame the early loss of Kyle Bradbury and went on to score 152 for six in 30 overs.
Paul Davidson, later to be named man of the match, top scored with an unbeaten 64 which included four boundaries. Gary Burlinson added 28 and David Conway contributed 22 runs.
In reply South Shields were all out in 23 overs for 108 of which Scorer scored 32. John Maddison was in good form with the ball for South Hetton and his off spinners earned him three wickets for 25 runs in five overs, while Bradbury chipped in with two for 21 from his six overs spell.
A feature of the final tie was the fielding of the South Hetton youngsters which was at a very high standard throughout the South Shields innings. No fewer than four of the Shields batsmen were run out.
South Hetton had previously lifted the Justsport Under-15 Trophy with victory over South Shields at Durham City and have also won the Federation Special Durham Under-15 Cup defeating Chester-le-Street in the final. They are still involved in a fourth competition, the Gavin Pattison Trophy.
South Hetton reached the final defeating Durham City by ten runs. David Conway scored half his team's runs contributing 37 to a total of 74 all out as Durham City's Pippin Dias, Whalley and Pratt shared the wickets.
Replying Durham City were all out for 64 which included 20 by Bradley. Kyle Bradbury captured two wickets for 18 runs and David Conway had three for ten in the South Hetton attack.
Shields defeated Dawdon by 12 runs in their semi-final tie. Billy Scorer hit a six and one boundary in an unbeaten 45 and Paul Muchall contributed 33 to the South Shields total of 100 for four before Dawdon were restricted to 88 for three of which Stephen Gale added 52 with five boundaries.
