St MARK'S Church, Eldon, is holding a flower festival, called Art in Bloom, from Friday to Sunday, August 30 to September 1.
The event is open on the Saturday, from 10am to 5.30pm, with food available. On the Sunday there will be a sung Eucharist from 11am to noon. The festival is held from 2pm to 5pm with afternoon tea, followed by a songs of praise, from 6pm to 7pm.

BODY CONDITIONING: Body conditioning classes will take place every Monday, from September 2, between 6.30pm and 7.30pm, at Jubilee Fields Centre, Shildon.
JUMBLE SALE: Belle Vue Workingmen's Club, in Commercial Street, Crook, is holding a jumble sale and coffee morning on Tuesday, from 9.30am to 11.30am, to raise cash for the children's Christmas charity fund.
FLOWER POWER: Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle stages a flower festival over the bank holiday weekend to mark the 150th wedding anniversary of the founders, John and Josephine Bowes. The festival, organised by the Museum Friends, is open from 11am to 5pm from today until Monday.
open day: The Witham Hall in Barnard Castle holds an open day on Monday from 11am to 3pm to publicise its facilities and activities. Admission is free and tea will be available.
BOOT SALE: A car boot and table-top sale will be held at Thwaite Hall, Cotherstone, on Monday, from 10.30am, with proceeds going to Holy Trinity Church, Startforth.
