A team which insisted its matches were "always on Sundays" because of pressure on courts has won a divisional championship.
Officials of Wetherby Tennis Club successfully pleaded a special case when their third team joined the league last season. Their other sides are able to play during the week.
And although league matches are normally played midweek fellow club members accepted the Wetherby situation.
Now Wetherby's B team has remained unbeaten this season to win the Division six championship.
League secretary Ian Hargreaves said he had not received any complaints about the Sunday matches.
Wetherby's five courts are under pressure throughout the week with two other teams in the Harrogate League and others playing elsewhere, said Hargreaves. "Members at the annual meeting agreed that the Wetherby B team could play on Sundays because the general feeling is that we are here to encourage people to play tennis and it seems to have worked," said the league secretary.
Wetherby's Division Six champions have been skippered to success by David Corbyn and other regulars have included Godfrey Wilson, David Rhodes, Alan Bretherick, Trish Bell, Angie Bell and Mary Fidler.
The team finished two points ahead of Ripon B, who are also promoted, having lost just one match.
In Division Three Wetherby's first team finished fifth and their second team ended fourth in Division Four.
In Division Five Harlow D team are going up with Northallerton A to Division Four next season. The Harlow D side of David and Vicky Street (three rubbers); Chris Milne and Liz Farley (two rubbers) and Chris James along with captain Moira Bryden (half a rubber) clinched promotion. The side secured elevation by defeating fellow promotion rivals West Tanfield A 5.5-3.5
