Go Safe: Self-defence classes are held on Mondays in Harraton Community Centre. The times are from 6pm to 7pm for people aged six to 14, and from 7pm to 8pm for older teenagers and adults.
Hot Riders: Firefighters from Washington's Red Watch completed a 65-mile cycle ride around the boundaries of Tyne and Wear to raise £1,000 for South Tyneside Hospital, South Shields.
Meeting For Twins: A Twins and Multiple Birth Group is held from 1.30pm to 3pm each Thursday, in Springwell village hall, with fathers and grandparents welcome. It costs £1.25 per session to cover refreshments and the use of toys and provides for children from birth to five years old.
