Coxhoe enjoyed a three wicket victory when they visited Medomsley who they dismissed in 26 overs for just 96 runs.
Mark Shaw top scored with 28 including four boundaries, but for most of the time the Medomsley batsmen found the bowling of Robert Maddison and Adsett problematic. Maddison bowled 13 overs returning three for 42 and Adsett claimed four wickets for a meagre 18 runs in six overs.
Responding Coxhoe conceded seven wickets and were grateful to a timely innings of 29 by Robert Maddison who his one six and one boundary. The innings lasted 42.1 overs as Bobby Orton took two for 35 from 21 overs and Dixon had three for 35 from 15.1 overs.
Coundon managed 144 which was only just sufficient as Newton Aycliffe replied with 135. Rodgerson hit a half-century in the Coundon innings when Gledhill claimed six wickets for only 59 runs. Despite a late 21 by Mitchie batting at number nine, Newton Aycliffe fell just short of the target as Hardy returned the excellent figures of seven for 42.
Despite making the useful total of 147 for eight, Littletown went down by four wickets to Sunderland Hospitals for whom Nicholson contributed 28, Robson 45 and W Shaw 31 not out.
When they made first use of the wicket Littletown were given a good send off by Davis with 40 and later Nelson added 46 before being run out. Andy Woollett then contributed 28 with Sherriff taking three wickets for ten runs and G Shaw three for 70 in Hospitals attack.
Wearmouth had 42 runs in hand of Washington after posting 164 all out which included 40 by Matthew Dench and 39 from Peter Stronach. Hebron took four wickets for 38 runs Alan Kitchen five for 13 for Washington who responding could only manage 122 for nine. Murphy had a good day with the ball for Wearmouth claiming three wickets for 52 runs and Stronoch, introduced as first change, did even better with figures of six for 50.
Benwell Hill ended on 188 for seven when they entertained Belford House. Barry Pearson was the leading run maker opening the innings and finishing undefeated on 83 while Taylor and Weatherhead both added 29. Duncan Forrest had three for 34 and Havelock two for 54 for Belford House.
Responding the visitors were dismissed for 115 which included 24 by Forrest and 29 from Stephen Wright, while for Benwell Hill, Phil Haves captured five wickets for just 36 runs and Archbold returned three for 40.
East Rainton continue to lead division one and they comfortably defeated Plawsworth by nine wickets. The visitors were reduced to 72 all out as Ian Kitching returned four for 12, Fleming three for three and Roy Richardson two for 39. Neil Matthews then struck an undefeated 32 leading East Rainton to another important victory.
In division two Bearpark dismissed Tantobie for only 63 in 19 overs, but lost five wickets before securing the necessary runs. John Smith sent down ten overs in the Bearpark attack and returned the outstanding figures of six for 27 while Neville Lishman had three for 27 from nine overs.
In reply Bearpark were indebted to John Smith whose 32 included six boundaries and in the Tantobie attack both Brown and Petrie took two wickets apiece.
Kelloe had 19 runs in hand when they visited Hunwick. Batting first the visitors ended on 137 which included 34 by Simpson and for Hunwick Morris took four wickets for 16 runs.
When they went into bat Hunwick lost early wickets, but their hopes were raised by Pratt (36), however, when Bowery was introduced into the attack and took four wickets for just five runs, the innings closed on 118.
Wearmouth managed 32 on their visit to North Bitchburn as Lee captured five wickets for 13 runs and Tennick had two for 18. North Bitchburn conceded two wickets reaching the winning score.
Kibblesworth made a respectable 156 but still lost by nine wickets to Simonside for whom Michael Thompson scored 88 and P Thompson 50 not out.
Batting first Kibblesworth were indebted to Woodhouse for his contribution of 79 and to Wilson who added 25 while for Simonside man of the match Peter Thompson captured six of the wickets for 46 runs.
East Rainton were dismissed for only 86 at Washington for whom Brown had figures of five for 43. Washington lost three wickets before celebrating victory.
After realising 186 for nine Belmont lost by two wickets at Burnhope. Johnson, who went in at number three, contributed 33 and Omar 28 as the pair produced a productive partnership for the third wicket. Gray added 25 and towards the end F Gray carried his bat for 25 as Burnhope made their way to 109 for eight. Robinson with four for 70 and Welsh with four for 66 kept Belmont in the game.
When they made first use of the wicket Belmont lost early batsmen before Noble came to the rescue with 29 and assisted by no fewer than 29 extras, the total of 186 for nine was posted even though F Gray took six wickets for 90 runs in the Burnhope attack.
