THE third of the North Yorkshire Road Racing Supporters Club's summer chat shows takes place at Elders Bar in Northallerton on Tuesday, when MonsterMob Ducati stars Steve Hislop and Stuart Easton will be live on stage.
Hislop currently leads the British Superbike Championship, while Easton heads the UK Supersport class, and the pair will be hoping to have made some good progress towards their respective titles at the previous day's meeting at Cadwell Park.
Scotsman Hislop, who now lives in the Isle of Man, was leading the series last season when he suffered a badly broken leg in the penultimate round, while 18-year-old Easton, also from Hislop's home town of Hawick, could have wrapped up his first national title after dominating for much of the season.
Hislop suffered a broken collarbone last month when he was knocked off while leading his home race at Knockhill, but is now fully recovered. Easton scored his first ever world championship points with a superb tenth place in the World Supersport race at Brands Hatch recently aboard his 748cc Ducati.
As well as the chat show, there will be a raffle, late bar and the ever-popular auction, with Hislop already donating a team shirt, boots and an OGK crash helmet.
So far this summer, the NYRRSC have raised more than £4,500 to help local competitors. Admission is £5 on the door for adults, with accompanied children £1, and more details are available from Sue Symons on 01904 339647.
* Despite changing the date from mid-winter to summer, the expected quantity of entries for Sunday's Specsavers Stages Rally has not materialised. But the enthusiastic Northallerton Auto Club has given the green light for the event to go ahead, with a few alterations.
By the closing date, only 40 crews had submitted an entry, but clerk of the course Geoff Balls managed to re-negotiate a deal with the Ministry of Defence landowners. As a result, the 11-mile Foxglove stage will now be used a variety of times, instead of using additional venues as planned.
However, it is very much a case of quality rather than quantity, with no less than three former winners in the entry list. The cream of northern stage rallying will also be in action on the military ranges at Catterick Garrison in a qualifying round of the Deansbury Homes ANECCC Championship.
Three times winner Charlie Payne from Ripon and co-driver Craig Thorley lead the cars away in their MSR Mitsubishi Lancer, while Leeming's Kevin Procter will be hoping to repeat his 1998 victory in his Ford Sierra Cosworth with Northallerton rallycrosser Dave Bellerby on the notes.
Northallerton's Charlie Taylor drove the last rear-wheel drive car to win the event back in 1989 and he goes for glory again in his venerable Mark 2 Ford Escort, with Steve Beilby from Malton as co-driver.
Shildon's Barry Johnson, leader of the Scottish Championship, contests the event for the first time in his Subaru WRC, while Bedale's Bryan Gill, who has finished runner-up three times, will be hoping to land that elusive victory in his Ford Escort Cosworth.
Other notable names include ANECCC champion Michael Glendinning (Newcastle) in his Subaru and former event sponsor Chris Lewis (Mitsubishi) from Exelby, while the radical Ford Puma 4x4 of Thimbleby businessman David Brown heads for the ranges for the first time.
With scrutineering and documentation now on Sunday as opposed to tomorrow, cars will be heading for SS1 at around 10am with return visits at 11.45, 1.45 and 3.15. The usual car parking is available at Waithwith Bank (MR 99/138975) and costs £5 per car.

* All six local crews who contested last weekend's Sea King Stages Rally at RAF Leconfield, near, Beverley managed to see the finish ramp and give a good account of themselves.
Best performance came from Newton Aycliffe driver Geoff Wright and co-driver Chris Purvis, who took their Hambleton Steel Nissan Almera kit car to a magnificent fourth overall and a comfortable class win.
Toronto's Bob Dennis and Gateshead co-driver Ron Roughead followed them home in fifth, some 21 seconds down in their BTL Subaru, while the Bishop Auckland pairing of Ian and Andrew Legge brought their Ford Escort home in 31st overall and ninth in class.
The father and son team of Keith and Andrew Davison from Middlesbrough managed 37th overall and 12th in class in their Darrian T90, with Ferryhill's James and Michael Argue one place further back in their Ford Escort.
Pickhill driver Kari Bosworth and co-driver Nicky Shepherd from Bedale finished in 47th place and 12th in class in their Tanfield Engineering Peugeot 106.
* Yarm racer Russ Hodgson ventured to Cadwell Park last weekend to contest the MRO Championship meeting and get some valuable practice ahead of the weekend's British Championship round at the Lincolnshire venue.
The 21-year-old came away with a superb second place after leading the 125cc race aboard his Cameron's Honda for much of the way before being overhauled late on by York rider and British Championship leader Chris Martin.
Bishop Auckland's Barry Burrell also scored a runner-up spot as well as a sixth placing as he continued his assault on the Aprilia RS125cc Superteen series. The 16-year-old also managed a brace of thirds in Saturday's club meeting.
Jenny Tinmouth from Whitby was placed 24th in the 125cc race, while Rainton's Tony Thirkell and Roy King took F2 sidecar honours on their way to seventh overall aboard their 600cc DMR Honda.
l Local motor sport fans are set for a bank holiday weekend bonanza as Darlington and District Motor Club host their second race meeting of the year at Croft.
The meeting will see the introduction to the UK of the European-based championship, The Youngtimer Trophy Nederlands. The exciting series includes Porsches, Alfa Romeos, BMWs, Mercedes, Triumphs and Escort RS's.
The Northern Saloon and Sports Car races have 25 starters for the class A and E races and 28 for the class B, C and D races. There will be an abundance of support races over both days, including the DDMC Sports Racing Series, The Powermods Alfa Romeo Championship and The MG Cockshoot Cup and the MSA Super Karts
