Manchester City 1 - 0 Newcastle Utd: Former Newcastle boss Kevin Keegan was celebrating today after his stylish Mancunian outfit proved just too good for Sir Bobby Robson's Magpies.
In a battle of the former England bosses Keegan won the tactical confrontation and thanks to Darren Huckerby's first half strike he took all the points as well. Sir Bobby had decided on a like for like formation change with Aaron Hughes joining Titus Bramble, Nikos Dabizas in back three with Olivier Bernard and Nolberto Solano running the flanks.
But a glaring miss from Kieron Dyer merely papered over the cracks as a missfiring Newcastle outfit with the returning Gary Speed - in for Portugese youngster Hugo Viana - unable to inspire the Magpies.
