"SUPERGRAN" Grace Wright is bowing out in style - with the help of hundreds of teddy bears.
The 88-year-old earned her nickname for her years of unstinting charity work in her home town of Northallerton.
But after 20 years of unceasing fundraising she has decided to take a rest - and is retiring on a high note with a giant teddy bear tombola. She will be manning her last charity stall at Northallerton's carnival on Bank Holiday Monday, and for her final duties has collected hundreds of teddy bears.
"I have been begging people for bears for some time and people have been wonderful in their response.
"I can hardly get into bed for bears," she said.
Mrs Wright, a great grandmother, has raised many thousands of pounds for a variety of good causes over the past two decades, selling Christmas cards and soft toys that she has made herself.
