A VILLAGE's annual horticultural show can go ahead this year thanks to a hospital's support.
Organisers of the Middleton St George Allotment and Garden Association Show received £300 from Middleton St George Hospital and Care Homes. The money will go towards the costs of the event, which will be held on Saturday.
The association has more than 200 members and attracts entrants in a variety of classes including vegetables, flowers and cookery. Classes are also available for junior entrants.
Association treasurer Liz Mason said: "Without the sponsorship from Middleton St George Hospital it would have been very difficult for us to have put on a show this year."
Linda Stephens, operations director at the hospital, said: "We are delighted to once again be able to support the show in this way. It is an excellent way for the hospital to support our local community."
The show will take place at Middleton St George Cricket and Social Club
