A CHILDREN'S charity is more than £3,400 better off thanks to a prize-winning industry team.
The team of workers from DuPont Polyester Technologies' plant at Wilton centre, near Redcar, won a design competition between around 400 DuPont employers from round the world.
The team that came up with the best products for reducing environmental impact and promoting sustainable growth were then asked to nominate a charity to receive a cheque for $5,000 - £3,424 in sterling.
Butterwick's Children's Hospice, based in Stockton, was nominated for the donation and gratefully received the cash last week.
Duncan Housley, John Jurgensen and Martin Davis made up the Wilton plant's prize-winning team.
