TIME is running out for people wanting to help steer a multi-million pound project in Hartlepool.
New Deal for Communities (NDC) has £54m of government money to spend over the next ten years transforming an area bordering the town centre, stretching from Hart Lane in the north to Belle Vue in the south.
Projects are wide-ranging and aim to improve health, raise educational standards, reduce crime, improve housing and the environment, create jobs and build a stronger community. Decisions on plans and priorities are made by the NDC steering group after consultation with local people.
Any NDC resident aged 18 or over who wishes to stand for election has until Friday to complete and return a nomination form.
Full details of the election process, and a copy of the nomination form, are contained in a leaflet which has already been delivered to homes in the area.
For more details about the elections or for an entry form, contact Louise Anderson on (01429) 894046.
