AN appeal has gone out to the public for information leading to the identification of a woman.
She is wanted in connection with the theft of a wallet from the Co-op store, in Chester-le-Street, County Durham.
At about 3pm on Tuesday, July 9, a man shopping on the store placed his wallet on a display unit while he queried something at a nearby checkout.
Crimestoppers has released in-store security camera pictures of a woman who approached the wallet, looked around and then picked it up before leaving the store.
The wallet contained £70 in cash, a number of credit cards and a driving licence in the name of Thomas Harrison.
The woman was white, aged 30 to 40, of stocky build with dark hair pulled back into a pony tail.
She was wearing a grey skirt, black round-necked t-shirt and a two-tonew black/grey coloured coat.
Anyone who has information can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111, and can remain anonymous.
