POLICE are appealing for a cyclist who may have witnessed a three-car accident on the B1366 Liverton Road, Liverton, east Cleveland, at 2pm on Sunday, to come forward.
Police are unsure how the accident, involving a Rover 414, a Honda CRX and a VW Polo, happened and would like to speak to any witnesses. As a result of the incident, three people suffered cuts and bruises and a female passenger in one of the cars fractured her collar bone and had to be detained in Middlesbrough General Hospital. BUSINESS FAIR: Buyers from retail chains will be viewing special occasion certificates and hand-crafted cards and card-making kits produced by Turtle Dive and Paper Wishes, two businesses based at the University of Teesside, Middlesbrough. The businesses are exhibiting at an autumn fair at the NEC, Birmingham for three days next month.
ECO SHOW: A solar-powered big top will be one of the features of a green issues roadshow organised by Hartlepool Borough Council on the Headland, next weekend. The event, organised to encourage townspeople to help the environment, will include a circus, activities, displays and exhibitions.
GOING UP: A range of courses and weekly coaching sessions are open to youngsters aged six to 14, interested in trampolining, at the Rainbow Leisure Centre, Coulby Newham, Middlesbrough. For more information, ring (01642) 592800.
CHARITY LINK: Volunteers are being sought to be locked up for charity. Business people will be "jailed" in the Cleveland Shopping Centre, Middlesbrough, until enough bail money is raised for their release, in an event organised to raise funds for the Teesside Hospice. PEDESTRIAN MEETING: The annual meeting of the Stockton Pedestrians Group is being held on Thursday, September 19, at 7pm, in the Grangefield Youth and Community Centre. The meeting is open to everyone with non-members free to participate.
NEW CONSULTANTt: A new consultant anaesthetist has been appointed at the North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Trust. Dr Joe Tint will work at both the University Hospital of North Tees and the University Hospital of Hartlepool, where he will work in general anaesthetics and intensive care. He joined the trust earlier this month from St Thomas' Hospital, London, where he worked as a specialist registrar in intensive care medicine.
OPEN EVENING: Stockton and Billingham College is holding a language open evening tonight at the college's Billingham site between 6pm and 8pm. From October, the college will be running part-time and evening classes in French, Greek, Italian and Spanish, from beginner to advanced level. Potential students will be able to enrol at the open evening.
