A SUPPORT group for carers is being relaunched in Shildon.
The group, an outreach branch of the Princess Royal Trust Sedgefield Locality Carers Centre, opened five years ago.
But in a bid to boost its profile, it is re-opening at the Garbutt Close Community Lounge, Garbutt Street, on Wednesday, September 4, from 1pm to 3pm.
Anyone who cares for relatives, friend or neighbours can drop in for help, support or advice.
The group is being re-launched by Councillor John Moran, portfolio holder for supporting people at Sedgefield Borough Council.
One carer said: "When I became a full time carer for my husband I was completely lost, as nothing about his illness had been explained to me. I was given medication to give to him and that was all.
"I was angry, confused and felt as if my life had ended, then someone told me about Sedgefield Locality Carers Centre and what a difference this made.
"Just having someone to talk to who really understands what you are going through is a big help."
