SIR BOBBY ROBSON last night told Kieron Dyer: "You've got the world at your feet.''
Dyer was Newcastle's inspiration at St. James' Park last night as the Geordies ultimately crushed Bosnians Zeljeznicar to secure their place in the Champions' League proper.
The England midfielder, who has fought back from a series of worrying injuries to revive his career, scored his second goal of the tie when he grabbed United's opener.
And he turned provider late in the game to set up goals for Hugo Viana and Alan Shearer as Robson's side took full advantage of Zeljo's short-handedness following the dismissal of Sanel Jahic.
Robson said: "I think the Champions' League is a stage where Kieron can shine.
"He's had setbacks with injuries, including stress fractures, but hopefully that is all behind him now and he can look forward to a brilliant career.
"He's got the world at his feet.''
Robson is leading his beloved Magpies into Europe's premier club competition three years after he realised a dream when he took charge on Tyneside.
And he paid a glowing tribute to his players, saying: "We're all delighted and it's a great reward for the players' industry and expertise last season.
"We played some astonishing football last season to finish fourth and get ourselves into this position, and I'm delighted for them.
"Now I would like to think we can get through the first group stage.''
Skipper Shearer edged ahead of Malcolm Macdonald into outright fourth place in the Magpies' all-time scoring chart with his 122nd goal for the club.
And Robson said: "We could have ended up scoring seven - Alan could have had a hat-trick.
"It's a wonderful achievement for him to be right up there - but he'll be disappointed he didn't get three tonight.''
Robson and chairman Freddy Shepherd will be in Monaco today for the first group stage draw.
