IT'S celebration time at Kingsway with Bishop Auckland back in the Darlington Building Society NY and SD Cricket League premier division after just one season in the first division.
They notched promotion at the weekend with three brilliant victories spearheaded in particular by captain Darren Blenkirron and strike bowler Stewart Morgan.
In the three games Blenkirron had innings of 106 not out against Yarm, 50 against Middlesbrough, and 46 against Darlington.
These three innings took Blenkirron's total runs in all competitions this season to past the 1,000 mark.
Next it was the turn of Morgan to hit the headlines with a magnificent 9-47 haul in 26.5 overs, including dismissing the last three Yarm batsmen for a spectacular hat-trick.
Against Middlesbrough he had 4-33 and claimed 6-52 against Darlington, taking his tally of league wickets to more than 50.
Bishop Auckland were relegated from the premier division last season. It was the first time in their history they had suffered the humiliation of being relegated. Bishops complete their fixtures on Saturday against Billingham Synthonia at Kingsway.
