A NEW Government minister visited a regeneration project on Teesside yesterday.
Tony McNulty, a minister in the Deputy Prime Minister's Office, toured Middlehaven, the Tees Valley Urban Regeneration Company's flagship project.
The company's chief executive Joe Docherty, who had a meeting with Mr McNulty, said: "Middlehaven is one of the most important regeneration projects in the Tees Valley - indeed the North-East - and we are very pleased to be involved in taking it forward on behalf of English Partnerships, Middlesbrough Borough Council and One NorthEast.
"Its success depends on close co-operation between many different interests, both public and private, and the interest and commitment of the Government is very important. We also discussed with the minister our plans for the regeneration company's central role in attracting investment for other flagship projects within the Tees Valley."
