SHOW TIME: Although there will be no sheep or cattle classes at Saturday's agriculture show at St John's Chapel, there are still lots of attractions lined up for visitors.
Sections include photography, produce and industry, horticulture, horse and pony, dogs and children's pets.
There will be a children's magic tent with Punch and Judy show, a magician and face-painting.
There will also be displays of falconry with two free-flying demonstrations and blacksmith Mark Fearn, from Nenthead, will be showing his skills. Music will be provided by the Stanhope Silver Band with entertainment by the Weardale Tappers dance group.
Entries are also being sought for a cross-country race, which will replace the now defunct fell race.

Entry to the agricultural show - from 10am to 5pm - is £3 for adults with children getting in free.
SPONSORED WALK: Bishop Auckland branch of the British Heart Foundation is staging two sponsored walks over 2.5 miles and 4.5 miles,in Hamsterley Forest on Sunday. SOCIETY MEETING: Guest speaker at the next meeting of the Weardale Society at the Barrington Hall, St John's Chapel, next Tuesday at 7.30pm, is geologist Dr Brian Young. His subject: Why Weardale Matters.
CANCER AID: An evening of clairvoyance is being held at Stanhope Town Hall, next Wednesday at 7.30pm, with the proceeds going to cancer research. Tickets, at £2.50 are available from Donaldsons shop, Stanhope, Frosterley post office and Wolsingham pharmacy.
HARVEST DATE: The annual harvest festival service is being held at High House Methodist Chapel, Ireshope-burn, on Sunday at 11am. The preacher will be the Reverend Les Hann. An auction of harvest produce will be held in the chapel vestry at 6.30pm.
