TWO North-East GPs are to face separate allegations of serious professional misconduct.
Dr James Francis Turley, from Newcastle, is accused of having a sexual relationship with a patient.
South Shields GP Dr Nabil Awadalla Naroz is accused of not acting in the interest of his patient by repeatedly failing to refer her to a gynaecologist.
Dr Turley has been summoned to appear before the Professional Conduct Committee of the General Medical Council in Manchester on Monday.
It is alleged that Dr Turley developed an "improper emotional and sexual relationship" with a patient.
It is also alleged that he carried out an "unnecessary and inappropriate" physical examination without the presence of, or the offer of, a chaperone.
The Professional Conduct Committee will also inquire into allegations that Dr Naroz repeatedly failed to refer his patient to a gynaecologist despite recommendations by a locum doctor and by the A and E department of a hospital.
In the case of Dr Naroz, the hearing will take place next Wednesday, in London.
