FORMER fliers and members of ex-servicemen and women's associations are to join a parade marking the Battle of Britain.
The annual Battle of Britain Service will be held at Durham Cathedral on September 8. Members of the Durham City Royal Air Force Association (RAFA) club will be taking part in a parade of colours on Palace Green, prior to the service, at 3pm.
Club president, RAF volunteer Frederick Parker, is among the guests joining civic dignitaries and ex-services officials at the cathedral for the service.
Eighty-two-year-old Mr Parker, of Briardale, Durham, said the service is an important event on the annual calendar of members and officials at the city's RAFA branch, in Crossgate.
