BIG Brother star Jonny Regan is to receive an award from his home town.
Runner-up in the reality TV show, local lad Jonny is to be presented with a memento to mark his achievement on the show which attracted an audience of millions.
Mayor of Peterlee Councillor Ann Wake will hand over the award at this year's Orange Peterlee Show during a gala music event, on Sunday evening, at the Helford Road ground.
Guest of honour at the event, Jonny will be presented with the award in recognition of his efforts in promoting the town.
A serving officer at Peterlee fire station, Jonny gained nationwide notoriety for his antics on the popular show.
Leader of Peterlee Town Council, Bill Jeffrey said: "We are in regular contact with other town councils around the country and it is amazing the impact Jonny has made in promoting Peterlee and the area.
"His efforts are to be commended and it is only a shame he did not win the competition.''
The Orange Peterlee Show, which will be staged this weekend, will offer a wide programme of family entertainment including a grand parade, main arena displays and stage acts, and spectacular firework and dancing water displays during the finales on both Saturday and Sunday evenings.
