PEOPLE are invited to make a pizza for Marie Curie to raise money for the cancer care charity.
The fundraising evening, on September 30, will take place at Pizza Express, in Darlington's Skinnergate.
Carol Oliver, community fundraising manager for the charity, said: "I got the idea after I was involved in a similar pizza-making event on holiday in Sorrento.
"It proved to be very popular and was such good fun. I am hoping to recreate this fun event and raise much-needed funds for the local nursing services."
Pizza Express general manager Graham Atkinson said: "We supply the venue for a range of charity events. It makes people aware of the restaurant while helping to raise money for good causes."
The Make a Pizza event marks the launch of the Make a Meal for Marie Curie campaign, which will continue until the end of October.
Individuals, women's groups and schools are involved in making their own meals and raising money.
People are invited to hold dinner parties and ask their guests to donate money to the charity.
Tickets for the Make a Pizza evening cost £10 and include a glass of wine. They can be obtained from Carol Oliver on 0191-382 3311.
