FENG Shui experts have given their verdict on a landmark building on Teesside.
Owners of Middlesbrough's Centre North-East building are investigating ways to harness positive energy following the receipt of their Feng Shui assessment. The Chinese art is utilised by companies to help achieve a harmonious and healthy working environment for their staff.
Christine Martin, from consultants Feng Shui North-East, visited the building to survey the property and surrounding environment to assess its positive and negative energy aspects.
Her report raised some interesting points, including:
* Earth energy for buildings erected in 1972, such as Centre North-East, is seen to be falling until 2004. But then it will move into a good energy circle, which will continue until 2124.
* The glass building allows fast flowing "chi" energy in the form of heat and light to flow easily into the premises. This needs to be slowed down by placing soft woods or banks of plants close to larger glass areas.
* Neon signs near the main entrance should include bright green to activate and further support the health and wealth of the building.
Ms Martin also gave her suggestions for the decoration and furnishings of a relaxation room, the reception area and tips on making individual offices more pleasant working environments.
John Orchard, director of Marchday Holdings, which owns the building, said: "It was tremendously interesting to read Christine's report and we are certainly considering ways to implement some of her suggestions."
