Yarm and District Saddle Club fielded a team against stiff competition at the British Riding Clubs annual horse trials championships in Warwickshire.
The competition, held over three days, saw a high level of performance throughout.
The event attracted 13 junior teams and 23 senior clubs in the open section, while the novice section had 40 entries.
Yarm was placed second at the last event in 2000 and this time finished 15th overall. However, Colin Saint, riding Brettanby Clint, produced the second best individual performance after completing the dressage, show jumping and cross-country phases.
The Yarm team was the only one from the North East of England Area 2 clubs and made a fine effort. A spirited attempt by Becky Rogerson on Humes Law saw her finish a well-deserved eighth in the open section.
The club will again represent Area 2 when they compete in the national championships in Lincoln next month
