Yarm Tennis Club have appointed experienced player and coach Anne Clayton as head coach.
She first represented Durham and Cleveland in 1976 and has continued to play for the county at all age levels. In 2000, Anne celebrated her tenth year as ladies county captain, the longest serving captain in the recorded history of Durham and Cleveland. She also recorded her 21st county week appearance that year.
She has won many county singles and doubles titles over the years and was awarded her county colours in 1980. In 1996, she was elected a member of the County LTA executive committee and the following year was made an honorary life vice-president for services to tennis.
Anne is still the current ladies county captain, county executive member, chairman of county competitions and tournaments committee, captain of county ladies over 35 team, manager of county U18 girls team, captain of of Yarm ladies and a Yarm committee member.
