Pulling out the peg everyone wanted - the run off below Sand Hutton wood - Graham made the most of his good luck in an action packed five hours.

CARP SCENE
Woodland's midweeker produced a magnificent result when Map Elton regular Dean Smith set a new open match record heaving 99.14.0 onto the scales just short of the magic ton.
Dean on Partridge Lake's 29 opted for the pole and meat at 13 metres fishing up in the water. Feeding a combination of meat and pellets he started catching straight off and with barely a lull in the proceedings accumulated mostly carp - best a common of 5.0.0 - in an unbelievable session. Teamate Ray Singh also on Partridge Lake used the same method as the winner off peg 21 on Partridge and pulled out all carp to snatch runner up spot tipping the scales at 73.3.0 from Steve Broughton Armley AC 72.4.0.
A leading weight of 92.2.0 and collectively the most fish weighed in during a match Saturday's event at Woodlands hit tremendous form for the sell-out 71 competitors.
Following Wednesday's match red hot Partridge Lake continues to stand out from the rest and the top four anglers in the frame were all pegged there. John Chapman of Keenets North West cast the rest aside dominating the scoresheet. Partridge 28 responded to the tried and tested long pole fished up in the water feeding luncheon meat and pellets and from then on John carped his way to success taking fish to the 4.0.0 mark. Record breaker Dean Smith was relegated to second best.
Carp expert Map Elton's Dean Smith once again emerged a winner leaving the rest behind at the Oaks Sessay Thursday Open on Maple Lake.
An all carp net of 77.12.0 settled the verdict. Fishing peg 54 pellets and the pole at 13 metres established contact with the fish tempting samples to 5.0.0. For Oaks rod Rab Ogilvy nine metres and cat meat delivered carp of a bigger size up to 8.0.0 for a 61.8.0 return off peg ten.
Oaks Sunday - Maple Lake: 1 A Stoner (Merlin Baits) 56.4.0; 2 C Moran (Dick Clegg Osset) 46.14.0; 3 M Lucas, Ted Carters Preston 37.8.0.
