Newfield pool team produced the biggest shock result for many seasons when from their foot of the table position they beat the visiting section leaders, Ferryhill, for the loss of only one point to throw the Championship destination back into the melting pot.
Steve Webster took the only points for Ferryhill, whilst wins from Billy Percival, Robert Sharp, Steve Dillon and Dave Harrsion produced the unexpected. This leaves Ferryhill just one point ahead of Cockton Hill and two ahead of Crook Belle Vue with just one match left. The dominoes section was tightened when both the top teams were beaten by the odd point. Leaders, Chilton went down at home to Crowtrees and Byers Green lost at Crook Belle Vue. This leaves Chilton two points clear at the top with Byers green two ahead of the joint third placed teams, Middlestone Moor and Cockton Hill, who both scored odd point victories.
Crook Belle Vue clinched the darts title when they went nine points clear of second placed Cockton Hill after only dropping one point to the visiting third placed Byers Green. Cockton Hill, who entertain Crook in the final match, are guaranteed the runners-up spot after their win at Willington.
