Tow Law North Point lost valuable ground in their race for the Championship when they went down by the odd point at Sunniside Comedian.
The home side established an advantage in the singles where they had wins from Ray Johnson, John Conley, Morgan Errington and John Hildreth, with replies coming from Gary Watson and Paul Graham. The Point recovered to take two of the doubles but a victory by Errington and Conley clinched victory. This defeat leaves the Point five points behind Tow Law Dan's Castle A, who beat their B team for the loss of three points.
Esh Football Club slipped up in their home game against Tow Law New Market B and only managed to collect three points, which moved them down to sharing third place with Sunniside Comedian and Tow Law Rose and Crown. The footballers had singles wins from John Robinson and Colin Neil whilst the visitors forged ahead with singles wins from Tom Hauxwell, Michael Bell, John Beveridge and David Spencer. The New Market completed a good night by taking two of the three doubles.
