A GRANDMOTHER is raising thousands of pounds to take part in a trek in China.
For the past six months, Sheila Donaldson of West Green, Stokesley, has been raising funds for the trek along the Great Wall of China to raise funds for Action Aid.
Mrs Donaldson, 53, a Cub Scout leader for more than 24 years, flies to Beijing on October 5 and plans to walk sections of the wall, staying in small hotels or hostels.
She also hopes to visit Shanghai and see the famous Terracotta Warriors at Xian.
Mrs Donaldson has received financial help from organisations including the 1st Stokesley Cub Scouts, the Royal British Legion and Grahams Engineers Ltd of Seamer, and family and friends.
