APPLIED Optical Technologies is investing more than £250,000 in upgrading its facilities in Tyne and Wear.
The money is being spent on the new facilities in Washington to upgrade analytical and diagnostic equipment that will be used in the development of new and innovative anti-counterfeiting, authentication and holographic technologies.
Don Tomkins, research and development director at Applied said: "This is a key strategic investment for us, and we are committed to the development of new optical technologies and techniques for commercial security, brand protection and packaging applications."
