On Wednesday League champions Hartlepool Town kept up their winning form with a 3-1 win at home to Seaham The Duke.
James Parkinson had them in front in the first half scoring in 44 minutes. David Eglintine made it 2-0 in 70 minutes. Gary Shepherd pulled a goal back for The Duke in 85 minutes before Micky Ross sealed it a minute later for Hartlepool.
Coxhoe Athletic stay joint top with a convincing 4-1 win over Garden Farm Real. David Milburn got two goal, Alan Tolley and Don Williams the others. Martin Spoores replied for Garden Farm.
Durham Victoria Bridge earned a well-deserved point, the first of the season, against a strong Cockfield side. They were 2-0 down at half time John Myers and Steven Rodgers getting Cockfield's goals in 24 and 30 minutes. Lee Pratt reduced the arrears in 65 minutes with Duncan Turnbull scoring the equaliser in 80 minutes.
Belford House won the three points in a nine goal thriller away to Simonside SC. Stewart Burton put them ahead in 2 minutes, Michael Aitkin made it 2-0 in 18 minutes. David Basham reduced the arrears in 29 minutes before Michael Conner gave them a 3-1 lead at half time in 37 minutes.
Two minutes into the second half Brian Payne made it 4-1 to Belford. Gavin Burns made it 4-2 with a penalty in 63 minutes and scored another in 71 minutes. In 72 and 75 minutes Martin Dercon and Michael Burton gave Belford a 6-3 win.
Sportng Club Sunderland hit Seaham Mallard with a 12-1 win. Barry Cook hit four, John Cairns (3), Stephen Jackson (2) John Young (2) and Mark Lawton. Bary Cougle got Seaham's consolation goal.
Brandon Station stay top of the league with a 3-1 win against Seaham The Duke. Gavin Bell got two and Chris Park got the other for Brandon with Doug Grant getting Shildon's.
Springwell were no match for Whitehill FC losing at home 5-1. Gary Robson, Ian Proctor, Graham Cook, Gary Todd and John Embleton scored Whitehill's Goals. David Hills got Springwell's consolation goal.
On Saturday, Cockfield beat Whitehill FC 2-1 away in a hard contest. Cockfield went 1-0 up in 55 minutes, Anthony White scoring with his head. Chris Howe got the second in 65 minutes when Colin Bell, the Whitehill keeper let the ball slip under his body. Kevin Coats pulled a goal back for Whitehill in 82 minutes and were unlucky not to draw level when Justin Robson hit the post later in the game.
Brandon Station won 5-0 at home to Garden Farm Real. Phil Wilkinson put them ahead after 25 minutes, Chris Parks made it 2-0 in 30 minutes. In the second half Gavin stretched the margin to five with a stunning hat trick in 55,65 and 75 minutes.
Shildon Railway shared the points with Seaham Mallard drawing 1-1. Shildon were in the lead at half time when their full back David Trotter went down the wing and crossed for Chris Lye to head the ball home in the 35th minute. Seaham drew level ten minutes into the second half when Barry Cougle beat two defenders to slot the ball home.
Coxhoe Athletic beat Durham Victoria Bridge 3-0 at home. David Milburn got the first, Michael Armstrong scored the second and David Hutchinson rounded the keeper in 90 minutes to score the third.
Ebchester FC got their revenge against Birtley Town Reserves, winning 3-1 after losing against them in mid-week by 3-0. Mark Turner and Neil Swainston had them 2-0 up, Lee Cuthbertson pulled one back before Swainston got his second.
Springwell Village went down 6-3 at home to Simonside SC who's opener was an own goal in 11 seconds by Laurence Reay, other goals coming from Ray Simpson (2), David Poasham, Gary Stevenson and Gavin Pourns. The Springwell replies came from Danny Murray, Michael Thopson and Paul Hardy.
