A BIG housing development planned for a former chemicals factory site in Darlington is expected to be approved at a planning committee meeting next week.
Members of Darlington Borough Council's planning committee are meeting on Wednesday to discuss detailed plans for the West Park development, at Faverdale.
Bellway Homes, in partnership with Bussey and Armstrong, have submitted final plans for the layout and design of the 306 houses proposed for the former Darlington Chemicals site.
Plans include a variety of designs and styles for the two and three-bedroom houses at the east and north-west of the park.
Included in the design is a network of vehicle, pedestrian and cycle routes.
Darlington council's planning committee is also expected to approve plans for a new roundabout in the area, which has been the subject of 18 letters of objection from local residents.
The roundabout will provide access to the West Park site.
