In the final week Redcar Literary Institute's A team beat this year's champions 2-1. Mark Andrews (-35) was first to the table playing Phil Hartley (Scr).
Andrews soon clawed back the start given to Hartley and finished the game with an unfinished 36 break to win by 150-84.
Callum Robinson (+30) levelled the match when beating Gary Beckett (-20) 150-139. John Hartley was awarded the final game as the Lakes were unable to field three players.
The Redcar Literary's B team went one better than their A team beating Carlin How 3-1. Anthony Kyme (+30) was first to reap the rewards when beating Brian Magor (+40) by 150 - 109. Barry Chapman (Scr) then continued the good work for the Lit when beating Andrew Wiseman (+45) 150-104. The final game was awarded to Andrew Fairley as Carlin were only able to field two players on the night.
Combined Billiards and Snooker Bowl
The second semi final of the Bowl was played between John Hartley and Callum Robinson both representing the Literary Institute at the Grinkle Park Hotel on Thursday, August 15. Hartley was conceding 15 points in the snooker match to Robinson but Hartley won comfortably 86-42. Robinson took full advantage of his 70 points start in the Billiards match winning 165-141, however, Hartley had the final say when winning the last snooker game 92-21. John Hartley now faces Anthony Kyme, also from the Literary Institute, in this years final.
