A North-East council has met with Northumbrian Water to help head off any future flooding problems.
Hartlepool's mayor Stuart Drummond sat down with water company bosses after touring the town's worst-hit areas. Mr Drummond said: "We have now had the opportunity to sit down with them and discuss the problems in detail and I am very encouraged with the outcome. I am anxious that remedies are found as soon as possible."
