Hylton could wrap up the championship if they win at Seaham Park today. They are 20 points ahead of Peterlee with just two matches and 40 points to play for and look certain to celebrate for the first time in almost 40 years.
It was in 1964 that they last won the title and after challenging strongly in recent years, go into their penultimate match at the top of the table favourites to secure their 14th win of the season at the expense of Seaham Park.
David Batty is included in a full-strength line-up and Seaham make just one alteration with John Witton resuming. The Park have won four games, two more than they did when they finished with the wooden spoon last year, and their aim is to finish fifth-from-bottom which would be a considerable achievement.
Peterlee visit Castle Eden and can only hope to win and for Hylton to suffer defeat. With Stuart Wilson unable to play, under-15 player Alex Masshedar comes into the line-up and draw specialists Castle Eden are unchanged.
Third-placed Murton line up against bottom-of-the-table Houghton with their full-strength side on duty. Tomorrow, Murton, who have already won the D and P Andrew Dixon Cup and the Bass Tom Burn Cup, meet Hylton at Ryhope in the final of the Frank Lees Trophy. Houghton have managed just one win in 20 games and although Gary Robinson is unavailable, it is expected that Paul Elliott, Lee Husband and Kenny Marriott will all play.
Silksworth have Graeme Weeks, David Tate and Stephen Lobban returning at Dawdon, who are severely weakened with the absence of Mark Ewart, Craig Price, Stephen Gale, Jamie Greenwood and Stephen Cahill.
Ryhope include youngsters John Errington, Mark Graham, David Miller and Christian Summerside for their near bottom-of-the-table clash with Boldon CA. David Hauxwell returns but professional Alan Dick and Kris Taylor are ruled out.
Boldon too need to make changes and Ian Bellerby and Russell Johnson are named ahead of Billy Wilkinson and Paul Anderson.Full-strength Easington visit Bill Quay, who are pleased to have David Hunt back in their line-up but a blow is the absence of opener Jeff Tudor.
