2000 COMMITTEE: A meeting of the Ferryhill 2000 Committee takes place on Wednesday, at Ferryhill Town Hall. There will be an update on Millennium Projects, and a report on the summer gala. Ideas will also be invited for the Christmas gala.
MARKET STALL: St Andrew's Church, Sadberge, is seeking items for a fundraising market stall on Saturday. Books, toys, bric-a-brac, pictures and videos should be handed in by Wednesday. Cakes, jam and chutney can be delivered in sealed bags to the church on Friday.
ADVANCED TEST: Four Darlington drivers have passed their advanced driving test with the Darlington Institute of Advanced Motorists. They are: Ian Bremner, Rosa Elliston, Brian Day and Cliff Longbottom.

MINISTER'S PLEDGE: The Reverend Phil Clarke, new minister at Darlington's Elm Ridge Methodist Church, has vowed to visit every member of his 300 congregation before Christmas. Mr Clarke has moved from Derbyshire, where he was director of evangelism for the Methodist Church.
CRAFT MARKET: A craft market is being held at the Bowes Museum on Saturday from 11am to 4pm. A reduction in the museum's admission charge gives entry to the craft market.
CAMERA CLUB: A meeting of Darlington Camera Club takes place tonight at Walkington House, Vane Terrace, Darlington at 7.30pm.
